Spring Break Is the Other Peak Season
Everyone plans for December. Smart renters plan for March. Between mid February and early April, spring break rolls through Miami in waves: college trips, groups flying in for a long weekend, families timing visits to school breaks, and international visitors finishing their winter escape. After the Art Basel to New Year's Eve corridor, it is the busiest rental stretch of the Miami year, and the cars prove it. The convertibles book out first, the five seat exotics go next, and by the first week of March the fleet is picked over.
If you are coming to Miami for spring break 2027 and want a specific car, this guide covers when to book, what it costs, the best cars for your crew, and where to actually drive once you are here.

When Spring Break Actually Happens
Spring break is not one week. Different schools break at different times, and the waves stack:
- Late February: the first college groups arrive, and availability is still good
- First three weeks of March: the peak. Demand across Miami tops out here, and it lines up with the highest hotel rates of the spring
- Late March and early April: the crowd thins, the weather holds, and the same cars are noticeably easier to get
The heaviest booking pressure lands on the first three weekends of March. If your trip falls in that window, book three to four weeks ahead at minimum. If your dates are flexible, late March gives you the same weather, the same ocean, and far better availability.
The Best Spring Break Cars by Crew
Five friends rolling together: Lamborghini Urus, $999 per day
The number one spring break car in our fleet. Five seats, 641 horsepower, four doors, and the badge that makes every valet in South Beach look up. When the plan is "we all go everywhere together," the Urus eliminates the two-Uber problem entirely. See the Urus.
The other five seat flex: Mercedes-AMG G63, $995 per day
The G Wagon seats five with presence nothing else can copy. It is the photo car for groups who want boxy, loud, and instantly recognizable. $995 per day, $1,095 on weekends, $895 on the weekly rate. See the G63.
Crews of six or seven: Cadillac Escalade, $499 per day
The honest budget answer for big groups. Seats seven, swallows luggage, and costs half the Urus. Pair one Escalade with one supercar for the hero photos and the whole setup costs less than two exotics. See the Escalade.
Couples and tight budgets: BMW M4 Competition convertible, $599 per day
503 horsepower, a folding hardtop, and four seats for $599 per day. The M4 Competition is the best power per dollar in the fleet for two people who still want to drop the top on Collins Avenue. The Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet is the other budget pick at $499 per day: a twin-turbo V8 convertible with four seats.
The hero photo: Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder, $1,399 per day
The car everyone associates with Miami. Drop the top, let the V10 echo off the hotels, and let the group chat do the rest. The Huracan EVO Spyder is the first convertible gone in March. If $1,399 is beyond this year's budget, the Audi R8 Spyder is the value pick at $899 per day, $799 on the weekly rate, with the same naturally aspirated V10 character.
The value supercar: McLaren MP4-12C Spider, $799 per day
The cheapest mid-engine exotic in the fleet: carbon tub, twin-turbo V8, 616 horsepower, folding hardtop, $799 per day. It is the supercar most groups never think to ask for, and the one experienced renters quietly grab when the Huracan is gone. See the MP4-12C Spider.
Planning a full weekend of nightlife runs? Our bachelor party guide breaks down group logistics, multi car setups, and the best cars by group size, and it applies to spring break crews just as well.
If You Are Under 25
Spring break crowds skew young, so this comes up constantly. The standard minimum age to rent an exotic car in Miami is 25. However, select vehicles are available to qualified drivers aged 21 and older with additional requirements, typically the performance tier: the M4 Competition, the C63 Cabriolet, the Escalade, and the Range Rover Sport SVR. Availability on higher value cars like the Huracan and the McLaren for under 25 drivers is limited and handled case by case.
The full breakdown, including what documents younger drivers need, is in our under 25 rental guide. Text us your age and dates and we will tell you exactly which cars are available before you plan around anything.
Where to Actually Drive in March
One thing most spring break guides will not tell you: South Beach gets complicated during the peak March weekends. In recent years, the City of Miami Beach has imposed curfews and street closures in the entertainment district during the busiest spring break weekends, including vehicle restrictions on Ocean Drive. The rules shift year to year, so check the current advisories before you build your itinerary.
The rest of the city is unaffected, and honestly, it is where the better driving lives anyway:
- Brickell: wide avenues, skyline views, valet at every hotel. Our Brickell guide covers the routes
- Key Biscayne and the Rickenbacker Causeway: the best driving road in Miami, ocean on both sides
- Wynwood: the murals make the best car photos in the city. Our Wynwood guide has the spots
- Design District: clean, polished, luxury shopping energy
- Collins Avenue early mornings: Ocean Drive gets the press, but Collins is the better drive, and before 9 AM it is empty
Our South Beach driving guide covers the island in detail, including which streets are worth your time and where to valet.

The math:
- Escalade, 7 days: $3,493 minus 10% is $3,143.70, about $449 per day
- R8 Spyder, 7 days at the weekly rate: $5,593 minus 10% is $5,033.70, about $719 per day
- Urus, 7 days: $6,993 minus 10% is $6,293.70, about $899 per day
- Huracan EVO Spyder, 7 days: $9,793 minus 10% is $8,813.70, about $1,259 per day
- Escalade, the full 14 day break: $6,986 minus 15% is $5,938.10, about $423 per day
Split five ways, a seven day Urus at the discounted rate lands around $180 per person per day, which is less than a single night out at a South Beach club. The full discount picture is in our weekly discount guide, and the price landscape for every category is in our exotic car rental prices guide.
What You Need
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of insurance
- Major credit card in your name
- Age 25 or older, with select cars available from 21 with additional requirements
Verification typically takes under 30 minutes when your documents are ready. The full checklist, including deposits by vehicle, is in our requirements guide, and what your personal policy actually covers on a rental is in our insurance guide.
Pickup, Delivery, and Flying In
Pickup is at our Miami location, minutes from Brickell and about 15 minutes from South Beach, and your car is detailed, fueled, and inspected before you arrive. Hotel delivery across South Florida is available by special arrangement, and for the March peak it should be booked with the rental, not after: the car is waiting at the valet stand when you check in. Details are in our hotel delivery guide. Flying into MIA? The airport pickup guide covers how arrival day works.
Same day rentals happen year round, but do not bet a March weekend on one. The realistic picture is in our same day guide.
