Renting an exotic car in Miami comes down to five things. You need to be at least 25 years old (21+ on select vehicles), hold a valid driver's license, carry proof of insurance, present a major credit card in your own name, and cover a refundable security deposit. That is the whole list.

This guide covers every requirement in plain language, so nothing surprises you at pickup. The Complete Requirements Checklist
Here is everything you will be asked for when you rent an exotic car in Miami:
- Age 25 or older — the standard minimum across the fleet, with select vehicles available to drivers 21 and up
- A valid driver's license — in the renter's own name
- Proof of insurance — personal coverage that extends to the rental, or coverage arranged through our partners
- A major credit card in the renter's name — for the security deposit hold
- A refundable security deposit — an authorization hold from $1,000 to $5,000 depending on the vehicle
Age Requirement: 25 Standard, 21+ on Select Cars
The standard minimum age to rent an exotic car in Miami is 25, and Premier Miami Rentals is no different. The reason is practical rather than arbitrary: the insurance policies that cover six-figure supercars are priced around the primary renter being at least 25, and a few extra years behind the wheel genuinely matter when you are handing someone 600 horsepower.
That said, being 21 to 24 is not a dead end. Several vehicles in the fleet are available to qualified drivers 21 and older, typically in the performance and luxury tiers:
- BMW M4 Competition Convertible — 503 hp, twin-turbo inline-six, four seats
- Range Rover Sport SVR — supercharged V8 luxury SUV
- Cadillac Escalade — seven seats, the group vehicle
The highest-demand supercars — the Lamborghini Huracán range, the McLaren 600LT Spider, the Ferrari 458 Speciale — are reserved for drivers 25 and older. Driver's License Requirements (Including International Visitors)
A valid driver's license is required — a standard, full license held in your own name. Learner's permits do not qualify, and the license should have been held for a reasonable period, not issued last week.
For International Visitors
Miami welcomes a huge number of international renters, and the rules are simple. If your home-country license is valid and printed in English, it is accepted. If your license is not printed in English, bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside it — the IDP translates your license and is issued in your home country before you travel. Bring your passport as your second form of identification at pickup.
Proof of Insurance
Valid insurance is required on every rental, no exceptions. Before you pick up, it is worth checking two things: whether your personal auto policy extends physical damage coverage to rental vehicles, and whether your credit card offers rental coverage as a cardholder benefit.

A Major Credit Card in the Renter's Name
The security deposit is placed as an authorization hold on a major credit card in the renter's name. Two things about that sentence matter:
- Debit cards and prepaid cards generally do not qualify. The deposit needs to sit as a hold on open credit, which is what a credit card provides.
- The card must be yours. A friend's or parent's card does not work, even with their permission, because the rental agreement and insurance name the cardholder as the renter.
If you are renting a high-deposit supercar, plan for available credit of up to $5,000 for the hold, on top of the rental itself.
Security Deposits: Real Numbers by Vehicle
The deposit is an authorization hold, not a fee — the money never actually leaves your account unless there is damage, and the hold is released after the return inspection. Current deposit tiers across the fleet:
- Around $1,000: Range Rover Sport SVR, Cadillac Escalade
- About $1,500: BMW M4 Competition Convertible, Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet
- $1,990 to $2,500: Mercedes-AMG G63, Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga
- $2,990 to $3,500: Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Audi R8 Spyder, Porsche 911 4S TECHART, the Mercedes-Maybach models
- Up to $5,000: the Lamborghini Huracán range, McLaren 600LT Spider, Ferrari 458 Speciale

The Verification Process: Usually Under 30 Minutes
Once you book, verification covers three things: your identity, your driving record, and your insurance. The process typically takes under 30 minutes, and most of it happens before you arrive so the car is ready when you are.
At pickup, plan a few extra minutes for the handoff walkthrough: condition photos, fuel level, how the car actually works, and where everything lives. Book ahead whenever you can, but outside peak season we can often turn a same-day request around — details in our same-day rental guide.
The House Rules You Are Signing
Every Miami exotic rental carries a few standard terms worth knowing before you sign:
- Mileage: 100 miles per day are included, with additional miles billed at a per-mile rate. A proper Miami day — the causeway, Key Biscayne, dinner in Brickell — fits comfortably inside 100 miles. The full cost picture is in our prices guide.
- Fuel: the car arrives with a full tank of premium; it goes back full.
- Additional drivers: can be added for a fee, and every added driver must meet the same age, license, and insurance requirements as the primary renter.
- Cancellation: full refund with 72 or more hours notice, 50% refund within 24 to 72 hours, no refund inside 24 hours.
What You Do NOT Need
The requirements list is shorter than most people expect. You do not need:
- A special driver's license — your standard license is enough
- Prior supercar experience — though honesty about your experience helps us match you to the right car; first-time renters often do best in the all-wheel-drive Audi R8 Spyder or Huracán EVO
- A membership, subscription, or referral
- US residency — international visitors rent with a valid license and passport every day
