Why New Year's Eve Is the Biggest Exotic Car Night in Miami
Ask anyone in the Miami rental business which single night the whole city wants to be behind the wheel of something special, and the answer is New Year's Eve. Art Basel brings the collectors and Spring Break brings the crowds, but the week between Christmas and January 1 is when Miami is at its most alive. Fireworks over Biscayne Bay, rooftop dinners in Brickell, club nights at LIV, E11EVEN, and Club Space that run until sunrise, and streets full of the most impressive cars you will see all year.
The weather is half the reason. Late December is the best driving weather Miami gets all year: daytime highs in the mid 70s, dry air, cool evenings. A convertible that would cook you in August is perfect at midnight on December 31. If there was ever a night built for dropping the top on Ocean Drive, this is it.
Here is how to do New Year's Eve in Miami right: which cars make sense for the night, what the night actually looks like from behind the wheel, what it costs, and when you need to book.
Book Before Thanksgiving, Seriously
New Year's Eve sits inside Miami's peak season, and December 31 itself is the most requested rental night of the year. The convertibles go first, the Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder above all, then the group SUVs like the Urus and the G Wagon as group and party bookings pile in.
The timeline we see every year: by late October the serious planners have locked their cars, by mid November the most popular vehicles are gone for the New Year's window, and by mid December people are asking for a Huracan from December 30 to January 2 and the answer is whatever is left. Our Art Basel guide covers the December crunch in detail, and the same rules apply a few weeks later.
Booking early costs you nothing if plans change. Our cancellation policy gives a full refund with 72 hours or more notice, so there is no reason to wait.
The Best Cars for New Year's Eve in Miami
Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder — $1,399 per day
The New Year's Eve car. Drop the top, cruise Ocean Drive at midnight with the Art Deco hotels glowing on both sides, and let the V10 provide the soundtrack. It seats two, which makes it the couple's pick, and no other car photographs the night better. Our Huracan guide breaks down the EVO, Spyder, and Tecnica.
Lamborghini Urus — $999 per day
The group answer. Five seats, 641 horsepower, and everyone rides together from dinner to the club to the after party. If your crew is four or five people, the Urus is the car that keeps the night in one piece. See our Urus guide for the full breakdown.
Mercedes-AMG G63 — $995 per day
The other group favorite, and its weekly rate drops to $895 per day if your stay spans the whole holiday week. Five seats, instant presence, and the valet stands at LIV and E11EVEN handle it every night. Our G63 guide has specs and booking tips.
Rolls Royce Cullinan — $1,495 per day
The VIP arrival. If the night starts with a big dinner reservation and a red carpet, the Cullinan is the quiet statement that outclasses everything at the door. The weekend rate is $1,645 per day, so the holiday weekend adds a premium. Our Cullinan guide covers it in detail.
Mercedes-Maybach S680 — $2,499 per day
The pinnacle for couples who want to be driven. Rear seats that recline like first class, near total silence, and an arrival that needs no introduction. Maybach rentals are the ones most often paired with a chauffeur for the night; our with driver guide explains how it works.
Ferrari 458 Speciale — $1,599 per day
The once a year night deserves the once a year car. The last naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari, screaming to 9,000 RPM, and the closest thing to a live concert you will ever drive. Seats two. Read our Ferrari guide for the full breakdown.
Picks that own the night for less
The Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet at $499 per day and the BMW M4 Competition convertible at $599 per day are four seat V8 drop tops that turn heads without the four figure daily rate. The Audi R8 Spyder at $899 per day is the value exotic: mid engine V10, top down, supercar badge. And if the crew is seven deep, the Cadillac Escalade at $499 per day moves everyone. Browse everything on the fleet page.
What the Night Actually Looks Like From Behind the Wheel
8 PM, dinner in Brickell or South Beach. Valet at the restaurant, keys in the attendant's hand, table with a view. Brickell's rooftop scene and South Beach's hotel restaurants both handle exotics every night, and on this night more than any other.
11 PM, roll toward the water. Leave early. Biscayne Boulevard around Bayfront Park closes for the city's official fireworks celebration, and Brickell crawls. The cars that move at 11 are the ones that left at 10:30.
Midnight, fireworks. The two best seats in the city are both from behind the wheel: the Rickenbacker Causeway looking back at the downtown skyline as the show goes off over the bay, or the MacArthur Causeway approach to South Beach with the display reflecting off the water. A convertible with the top down at midnight on December 31 is the Miami New Year's Eve experience in one frame.
1 AM to sunrise, the clubs. LIV at the Fontainebleau, E11EVEN downtown, Club Space running until the sun comes up. Hotel and club valets are stretched on this night, so tip well and hand the car over with confidence.
2 AM, Ocean Drive. The moment the night is actually about. The crowds have thinned, the neon is still glowing, and Ocean Drive at 2 AM on January 1 in a Huracan Spyder with the top down is the drive people plan the whole trip around.

The Holiday Week Discount Math
Most people are in Miami for the whole stretch between Christmas and New Year's, and that is where the automatic discounts do real work. Rentals of 7 or more days get 10% off, and rentals of 14 or more days get 15% off, applied automatically with no promo code. The terms are on the promo page.
The math on a seven day holiday week: a Huracan EVO Spyder at $1,399 per day is $9,793 for the week, minus 10% is $8,813.70, which works out to about $1,259 per day. A Urus week lands near $899 per day. A G63 week at the $895 weekly rate drops further with the 10%. If you are in town for more than three days, book by the week and let the discount do its job.
Traffic, Closures, and Valet Reality on December 31
A few things to plan around so the night runs smooth:
- Expect closures around Bayfront Park. Biscayne Boulevard closes near the park for the fireworks celebration. If your dinner or hotel is downtown, plan the route before you leave.
- Build in extra time between every stop. Brickell crawls and South Beach fills up. What is a 15 minute drive on a normal Tuesday can take 40 on New Year's Eve.
- Use valet everywhere, and tip generously. Valet stands at every major hotel and club handle exotics nightly, but they are slammed on this night. The ones who remember you are the ones you tipped in December.
- Do not street park. Crowds, confetti, and champagne are hard on paint. Every venue worth going to has valet.
- Consider a chauffeur for the club stretch. If the night runs until sunrise, a professional driver for the Maybach, Cullinan, or G63 means no one in the group has to be the responsible one. Our with driver guide covers the options.
- Plan the midnight position in advance. Decide where you want to be when the fireworks go off, and work the schedule backward from there.
