F1 Weekend Is Miami's Third Big Rental Weekend
Miami's luxury rental calendar has three peaks: Art Basel in December, New Year's Eve, and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix in early May. The Grand Prix is the newest of the three, and for car people it is the best one. For one weekend, the Hard Rock Stadium campus in Miami Gardens becomes the center of the racing world, and the city fills with fans, sponsors, and celebrities who all want to arrive in something loud.
If you are coming to Miami for race weekend and want an exotic car for the trip, this guide covers what to rent, what it costs, and how to handle the logistics. Questions about your dates? Call or text 438-533-9053 or message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm availability before you plan around anything.
What Race Weekend Actually Looks Like
The Miami Grand Prix runs in early May on a circuit built around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, roughly 30 to 45 minutes from South Beach depending on traffic. It is a three day event: practice and qualifying on Friday and Saturday, the race on Sunday. Around the track, the weekend is a festival of concerts, pool parties, and sponsor events, and the energy spreads across the whole city from Thursday through Monday. Check the official Formula 1 calendar for the exact dates each season.
The crowd flying in for this one is different from the December crowd. These visitors come specifically for the cars. A large share of them want to spend the weekend in something Italian or British, which means the Ferrari and the McLarens book out first, then the Lamborghinis, then everything else.
Book three to four weeks ahead at minimum. For race weekend, the honest advice is a month. Last minute bookings do happen, but you will be choosing from whatever is left, not choosing what you actually wanted.
The Cars Worth Renting for F1 Weekend
The obvious pick: Ferrari 458 Speciale, $1,599 per day
The only Ferrari in our fleet, and race weekend is what it was made for. The 458 Speciale is the track focused special edition of Ferrari's last naturally aspirated V8, 597 horsepower, a 3 second sprint to 60, and a soundtrack that makes every tunnel in Miami feel like a podium moment. It rents for $1,599 per day, $1,499 on weekend days, and $1,299 on the weekly rate, and it is the first car gone every May. If this is the one you want, lock it in early. See the Ferrari 458 Speciale, and if you are weighing Ferrari options generally, our Ferrari rental guide has the full picture.
The McLaren angle: 600LT Spider, $1,499 per day
Formula 1, McLaren, the papaya connection: a McLaren is the most on theme car you can rent for the Miami Grand Prix. The 600LT Spider is the sharp one, 592 horsepower, carbon fiber everything, 2.8 seconds to 60. At $1,499 per day it sits at the top tier of the weekend. The value play is the MP4-12C Spider at $799 per day: carbon tub, folding hardtop, 616 horsepower, and the cheapest mid engine exotic on the lot. The full comparison is in our McLaren rental guide.
For the group chat: Lamborghini Urus, $999 per day
Most F1 trips are group trips, and the Urus solves the group problem: five seats, four doors, 641 horsepower, and a badge that makes every valet stand at the stadium parties look twice. Split four ways it is about $250 per person per day, less than a single night of table service. For bigger crews, the Cadillac Escalade at $499 per day seats seven and swallows the luggage.
Drop top or nothing: Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder, $1,399 per day
May is the best convertible month in Miami: warm, dry, and before the summer humidity settles in. The Huracan EVO Spyder drops its top in 17 seconds and turns Collins Avenue into a private V10 concert. The value alternative is the Audi R8 Spyder at $899 per day, the same naturally aspirated V10 character for $500 less. Our convertible guide compares every open top in the fleet.
What an F1 Weekend Rental Costs
Same posted rates as any other weekend, no event surcharge. Here is the realistic three day weekend math, Friday to Sunday:
- Cadillac Escalade: $1,497 for the weekend
- BMW M4 Competition convertible: $1,797
- McLaren MP4-12C Spider: $2,397
- Lamborghini Urus: $2,997
- Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder: $4,197
- Ferrari 458 Speciale: $4,497 at the weekend rate
Extending the trip changes the math in your favor. Rentals of 7 or more days get 10% off automatically, and rentals of 14 or more days get 15% off, no promo code needed. A full week in the BMW M4 Competition drops to about $539 per day all in, and a week in the 458 Speciale at the weekly rate lands near $1,169 per day. The terms are on the promo page, and the full price picture for every category is in our exotic car rental prices guide.
Getting Around Race Weekend
Two things to know about logistics. First, pickup: your car is detailed, fueled, and inspected at our Miami location, minutes from Brickell. Second, race traffic: Miami Gardens gets heavy Friday through Sunday, with closures and congestion around the stadium campus on race days. Build your itinerary so the stadium runs happen early, and save the evenings for Brickell, the Design District, and South Beach, which sit far from the circuit.
Hotel delivery across South Florida is available by special arrangement, and for F1 weekend it should be booked with the rental, not after: the car is waiting at the valet stand when you check in. Details are in our hotel delivery guide, and if you are flying in, the airport pickup guide covers how arrival day works. Want a driver so everyone in the group can enjoy the champagne? Chauffeur service is covered in our rental with driver guide.
What You Need
- A valid driver's license
