The Question We Get More Than Any Other
Every week, the same text lands on our phone: I am in Miami for a few days and I want to drive something Italian. Lamborghini or Ferrari? It is the most common question we get, and it is a good one, because the answer changes what your whole trip feels like. A Lamborghini and a Ferrari are not the same experience in different wrappers, and the differences matter more in Miami than almost anywhere else.
Here is the honest breakdown from behind the rental desk: what each car actually costs per day, which one is easier to live with on Collins Avenue, which one sounds better on the Rickenbacker Causeway, and which one fits your specific plans. If you want to skip the reading, both are in the fleet right now, and you can check your dates by calling or texting 438-533-9053 or messaging us on WhatsApp.
The Short Answer
Three answers, no hedging:
- First exotic rental, or you want the top down: the Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder at $1,399 per day. All-wheel drive, a naturally aspirated V10, and a soft top that drops in 17 seconds. It is the most forgiving supercar in the fleet and the most Miami car on the road.
- You have driven exotics before and want the raw one: the Ferrari 458 Speciale at $1,599 per day. Rear-wheel drive, carbon fiber bucket seats, and the last naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari put in a mid-engine berlinetta. It is the collector's car, and it is the one people remember driving twenty years later.
- Renting for a week or more: the Ferrari is secretly the better deal. Its weekly rate is $1,299 per day, the same number as the Huracan EVO coupe's daily rate, and our automatic multi-day discounts stack on top. The full math is below.
Now the details.
The Cars, Side by Side
Both brands, with real posted rates from the fleet:
- Lamborghini Huracan EVO: $1,299 per day. 610 horsepower, all-wheel drive, 5.2L V10, 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds. The entry point to the Lamborghini experience.
- Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder: $1,399 per day. 631 horsepower and a convertible top. The South Beach pick.
- Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica: $1,499 per day. 631 horsepower, rear-wheel drive, the sharpest Huracan. For drivers who find the EVO too civilized.
- Ferrari 458 Speciale: $1,599 per day, $1,499 on weekends, $1,299 on the weekly rate. 597 horsepower, rear-wheel drive, a 4.5L V8 that revs to 9,000 RPM.
Security deposits are $5,000 on every car on this list. That is an authorization hold on your credit card, not a fee, and it is released after the return inspection. Every rental includes 100 miles per day, a full tank of premium fuel at pickup, and 24/7 roadside assistance.
What It Actually Costs for a Week
This is where the comparison gets interesting.
The Huracan EVO costs $1,299 per day, flat. The Ferrari costs $1,599 per day for a short rental, but its weekly rate is $1,299 per day. In other words, a week in the Ferrari costs the same per day as a single day in the Lamborghini coupe.
Then the automatic discounts apply to both. Rentals of 7 or more days get 10% off, and rentals of 14 or more days get 15% off, applied automatically with no promo code. The terms are on our promo page.
The math:
- Huracan EVO, 7 days: $9,093 minus 10% is $8,183.70, or about $1,169 per day.
- Ferrari 458 Speciale, 7 days: the weekly rate is also $9,093 before the discount, so the same $8,183.70, or about $1,169 per day.
- Ferrari 458 Speciale, 14 days: $18,186 minus 15% is $15,458.10, or about $1,104 per day.
So if your trip is a weekend, the Lamborghini is the cheaper Italian. If your trip is a week or longer, the price gap disappears entirely and the choice becomes purely about which car you want to live with. Which One Is Easier to Drive in Miami
This matters more than the spec sheet. Miami is not a racetrack. It is traffic lights, speed bumps, valet stands, and rain showers that appear out of nowhere.
The Huracan is the easier car. All-wheel drive on the EVO and Spyder means the power goes down without drama, even on wet pavement. The seating position is livable, the suspension is more compliant, and the dual-clutch transmission is smooth at parking lot speeds. If this is your first time behind the wheel of a supercar, the Huracan forgives mistakes the Ferrari will not.
The 458 Speciale demands more and gives more. It is rear-wheel drive, 597 horsepower, and set up by Ferrari's racing division. The carbon fiber bucket seats hold you like a harness, and the steering sends every texture of the road through your palms. It is not a difficult car, but it is a serious one, and it rewards drivers who have done this before. If you have never driven a supercar, start with the Huracan or the Audi R8 Spyder first.
The requirements are identical for both: 25 is the standard minimum age, with select vehicles available from 21 with additional requirements, plus a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a major credit card in your own name. The complete checklist, including what international visitors need, is in our rental requirements guide.
The Sound: V10 vs V8
Both engines are naturally aspirated, which is increasingly rare and increasingly special. No turbos muffling the exhaust, no fake engine note through the speakers.
The Huracan's 5.2L V10 is the classic Lamborghini wail: high, sharp, and recognizable three blocks away. At full throttle on the Rickenbacker Causeway, it is pure theater.
The 458 Speciale's 4.5L V8 is a different religion. It revs to 9,000 RPM and the note hardens into a scream that owners describe as mechanical violence set to music. If sound is the reason you are renting, drive both and pick with your ears, but know that the Ferrari is the louder, more feral instrument.
Which One Fits Your Plans
Cruising Ocean Drive and South Beach. The Huracan EVO Spyder. The top drops in 17 seconds, the V10 provides the soundtrack, and it is the most photographed silhouette in the city. Route and parking tips are in our South Beach guide.
A photoshoot or content day. It depends on the look. The Huracan's angular lines are maximalist and pop against Wynwood's murals. The Speciale's shape is classic and photographs like a magazine cover from any angle. Locations and timing are in our photoshoot guide.
A bachelor party or group weekend. Neither, honestly. The Lamborghini Urus at $999 per day seats five and keeps the whole crew together, and it still counts as the Lamborghini. If the weekend is about one hero car, the Huracan EVO is the party car. The full breakdown is in our bachelor party guide.
A birthday, anniversary, or proposal. The Ferrari 458 Speciale. Limited production, a genuinely special engine, and the kind of car that turns the day into an event. Ideas are in our birthday rental guide.
A first exotic experience. The Huracan EVO, or better yet the Audi R8 Spyder at $899 per day and $799 on the weekly rate. Same V10 architecture, all-wheel drive, and the friendliest supercar in the fleet. More on that in our Audi R8 price guide.
The Dark Horse: The McLaren 600LT Spider
If the choice is really about driving purity rather than the badge, the McLaren 600LT Spider at $1,499 per day splits the difference: rear-wheel drive like the Ferrari, a folding hardtop for the convertible life, and the sharpest chassis of the three. The full write-up is in our McLaren rental guide.
How to Book Either One
- Check your dates first. Both cars book out weeks ahead from December through April. Call or text 438-533-9053 or message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm availability in minutes.
- Pick your car in the fleet and lock it in. The step-by-step walkthrough is in our booking guide.
- If your trip is 7 days or more, book by the week. The 10% discount applies automatically, and on the Ferrari the weekly rate already matches the Huracan's daily rate. Details on the promo page.
- Plan pickup or delivery when you book. Both cars are detailed, fueled, and inspected before you arrive at our Miami location. Delivery to hotels and venues is available by special arrangement when arranged in advance.
Same-day rentals happen year round when the calendar cooperates, but do not bet a Ferrari on it. The realistic picture is in our same-day rental guide.
